It met from September 5 to Octo at Carpenters' Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania after the British Navy instituted a blockade of Boston Harbor and Parliament passed the punitive Intolerable Acts in response to the December Boston Tea Preceded by: Stamp Act Congress. Ottendorf's Corps was raised on December 5, in eastern Pennsylvania for service with the Continental Congress directed the corps would be composed of privates, sergeants and corporals included and that it be divided as follows: "divided into three companies, the first to consist of 60 men, light infantry, to be commanded by one captain and two ance: Continental Congress of the United States.
